No matter where you are in Ireland you’ll come across one of the island’s most popular symbols: the Shamrock. According to legend, St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain about the Trinity when he was trying to convert the Irish to Christianity. Nowadays many companies use it as part of their emblem and you find it on many Irish souvenirs. It is not a symbol for luck as such– as is a four leaf clover – but wearing a shamrock on St Patrick’s Day is believed to bring good luck and blessings!

The socks are knitted cuff down with a heel flap and gusset.
The socks come in two sizes, women’s M to fit leg circumference 20 cm (7.75”) and L to fit leg circumference 24 cm (9.5”). Leg length and foot length are adjustable. Leg length results in approximately 23 cm (9”) and the foot is a minimum length of 21 (23) cm 8.25 (9)” when knit as given in the pattern

You can choose to work the shamrock pattern either from the chart or the written instructions.

Material: 1 skein of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 400 m (440 yds) per 100 g.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, darning needle
