A World Too Wide
The square repeated throughout this afghan was originally designed differently than what you see here, but a quilter-friend of mine commented that it looked similar to the traditional Snail’s Trail or Drunkard’s Path quilt-block patterns. With a few minor changes, I was able to create the distinctive spirals of the Snail’s Trail using reversible
double crochet stitches. The success of following that quilt inspiration led me to other quilt-inspired squares, opening up a whole world of afghan possibilities.
