Abbie
Description
Patterns of stable holes travel across the Abbie wrap in two different directions. This asymmetric piece is worked from side to side and begins with just 5 chain stitches. It grows wider with each row worked. Abbie is also striped throughout. It’s a great way to incorporate two of your favorite colors in a wrap. The final product is both lacy and airy and unusual and striking. It is the perfect wrap for the warmer months.
Yarn
I used two colors of the Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Foxy Lady—Castle Rock and Pukuni. The yarn is a superwash merino-silk blend, and it is beautifully dyed. It is a dream to crochet with.
Stitches and Stitch Combinations
Chain; crossed double crochets (explained); double crochet; half double crochet; single crochet; slip stitch; treble crochet
Dimensions
After blocking, the piece is 27” (69 cm) at the widest point and has a 56” (142 cm) wingspan.
PDF
The pattern file is 4 pages in length. It contains 7 photos, including up-close photos of crossed double crochets and the lacy edging.
Testers
Three wonderful testers—estherke, Alivaz, and S2Five—tested Abbie. My sincere thanks to them for testing the design and for their comments. They crocheted beautiful versions of the design.
