The Abscission sock is an ankle-length sock with a lacy leaf pattern beginning at the cuff, travelling down over the heel, and ending in a leaf motif on the instep.
It is worked top down in standard 4ply fingering weight yarn, with options for a star or the more usual wedge toe. The heel is a flap and gusset construction.
The Abscission sock has three sizes for cuff/foot circumference, the length of the foot is adjustable.

The inspiration for these socks is my enduring love affair with nature and Autumn in particular; there is something so evocative about the abundance of leaves and vegetation just past its prime in a final flourish of glory before the desolation of winter. These socks are my attempt at carrying some of that loveliness forward into the cold days of winter

The instructions for this pattern are written and charted and run to 20 pages in length. For that reason I would recommend that if you wish to print this pattern for use that you read through it and only print off those pages required for your size/ preferences.
