Abstract
For this piece, I wanted to create something that had a distinct pop-arty, sixties vibe with the big black blocks, the three quarter sleeves and the relaxed fit.
The deep raglan yoke and boxy shape gives it a comfortable fit. The styling options are plenty, from a casual over jeans look to something more urban and styled to the max.
Because the garment is meant to be worn oversized, be sure to refer to Finished Dimensions when picking the best size for you.
design features:
Deep slow raglan construction
Fair-isle, two-color
Oversized, relaxed fit
Top-down
Neck band knit on later
Dolman sleeves
sizes:
XS (S, M, L, XL,2X) (72/76, 80/86, 91/96, 102/106, 111/116,121/126) cm 28/30(32/34, 36/38, 40/42, 44/46,48/50)“ bust circumference.
finished measurements armpit (laid flat): 50(55, 60, 65, 70,75) cm 20 (22, 24, 26, 28, 30)“.
Note that this is a very loose-fitting garment with deep raglan sleeves. Your bust will be inside a circumference that at that point still includes sleeves.
finished length: 55(58, 60, 61, 62,63)cm/ 22, 23, 24, 24.3, 24.7,25.1)”.
sample garment: model is 1.83m/6”, size S, and is wearing an M.
yarn:
MC: madelinetosh MCN fingering (Fingering / 4 ply 80% Merino, 10% Nylon, 10% Cashmere), 2(2, 2, 3, 3,4) skeins Antler
CC: madelinetosh TML (Fingering/4ply 100% Merino 420 yards/100 grams), less than 2(2,2,2,3,4) skeins Tern
Alternatives: many fingering/sport/sock yarns will work, for example sock yarns, Drops Cotton Merino, etc. Silk or vegetable content in the MC will help your drape, but all vegetable or silk will be difficult with the fair-isle because they lack stretch.
gauge:
Washed and blocked: 21 st/26 rounds at 10cm/4” in fair-isle stockinette in the round.
needles:
One 4 mm (US 7) 24” circular needles
One 3.5 mm (US 6)pair of circular needles one size smaller than gauge
Errata:
On page 4, in the short row section:
Repeat short row 2(instead of 3 and 4) you have 22 st left on the front.
