Accidentally on Purpose Drop Stitch Vest
Pattern description from Stitch ‘N Bitch Nation: “This vest was originally designed to be machine knit with much finer yarn. But it’s so versatile that any weight of yarn may be used, and it can be worn in various ways. It’s casual and funky worn with a long- or short-sleeved T-shirt underneath, and totally sexy with just a camisole. The smooth and silky cotton yarn makes a sleek, stretchy fabric, and it’s fun to knit, to. The stitch pattern only happens as you are binding off stitches at the very end. It’s a lot like turning a hole in your stocking into a ‘ladder,’ except the stitches will ‘run’ down from the neck instead of upward. There’s no shaping needed for the armholes or the back (even at the neck). So, even though the directions look complicated, it’s a breeze. You get to drop stitches all the way down to the bottom - on purpose!”
