Acer Shawl
Inspired by the beautiful tumbling waves of leaves on a mature Acer tree this pretty patterned shawl is deceptively simple to make. Worked in ever increasing rows so there is no long foundation chain, the size is easily adaptable – just work more or fewer rows.
Designed to be suitable as a first attempt at shawls for crocheters who are nervous about following patterns. The pattern is supported with tutorials on the lovecrochet.com blog.
The pattern is written in UK standard crochet terminology and charted.
Written for both 4ply and DK yarn weights but easily adapted to any weight.
Skill Level: Easy
Skills Used:
Basic crochet stitches, working in rows, working into chain spaces, working into stitches,
bobbles (explained).
Construction:
Starting at one end, each row is increased on the neck edge only until the shawl reaches the desired size.
