ACHIRA
Achira is the Hispanic name for edible canna or purple arrowroot, a flowering plant from which a starch is extracted that can be used for baking and cooking.

The Achira sweater is knit sideways, starting from the center of the back. The entire sweater is knit in garter stitch. Short-rows create both the colorwork and the shape of the yoke. Provisional cast-ons and subsequent grafting creates completely invisible joins. The sleeves are gathered by the cuffs to form a balloon sleeve.
