Join Pamela Stark of Sincerly Pam and Furls Crochet for their May 2020 CAL. This month we are making a gorgeous crochet lace cardigan, the Addy Cardigan.

The Addy Cardigan is a beautifully textured design featuring a simple lace body and contrasting bottom band and cuffs. The simple ribbed button band allows the cardigan to be worn open or buttoned up. Perfect for layering over tanks or sleeveless tops in the warmer months.

SUPPLIES

• Whims Merino DK in Mustard (5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10) skeins
• 5 buttons (approx 9/16” each)
• H (5.0mm) hook- I used my Alpha Series
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Measuring Tape

XS - fits bust 28-30”, finished bust 34”, length 24”, 800 yards
S - fits bust 32-34”, finished bust 38”, length 24”, 925 yards
M - fits bust 36-38”, finished bust 42”, length 24”, 1050 yards
L - fits bust 40-42”, finished bust 46, length 25”, 1175 yards
1X - fits bust 44-46”, finished bust 50”, length 25”, 1300 yards
2X - fits bust 48-50”, finished bust 54”, length 26”, 1425 yards
3X - fits bust 52-54”, finished bust 58”, length 26”, 1550 yards
4X - fits bust 56-58”, finished bust 62”, length 27”, 1675 yards
5X - fits bust 60-62”, finished bust 66”, length 27”, 1800 yards

CUFF GAUGE
7 (sc, ch2, sk1st) groups x 17 rows = 4”x4”

1. Ch20, sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch2, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch, repeat from across to last st, sc in last. 9 sc (sc, ch2, sk1st) groups

2: Ch1, turn, sc in first st, ch2, sk 1 st, sc in next ch2 space, repeat from across, sc in last sc. 9 sc (sc, ch2, sk1st)

Repeat Row 2 (17) more times. Measure the 7 sc (sc, ch2, sk1st) groups in the middle of your swatch. Without fastening off, move on to the Lace Gauge.

LACE GAUGE
4 (2tr, ch2, dc) groups x 6 rows = 4”x4” Continue to work this gauge after the last repeat of the Band and Cuff Gauge above. This is how to pattern repeats work in the pattern and will make sure you end with the correct dimensions on each panel.

1: Ch4 (counts as tr), turn, sk 1 st, (2tr, ch2, dc in next ch2 space, sk next ch2 space, (2tr, ch2, dc) in next ch2 space, repeat from across, tr in last. 5 (2tr, ch2, dc) groups

2: Ch4, turn, (2tr, ch2, dc) in each ch2 space across, tr in top of previous row’s beg ch4. 5 (2tr, ch2, dc) groups

Repeat Row 2 until the lace is at least 4” tall.

Again, measure the (2tr, ch2, dc) groups in the middle of your swatch for the most accurate numbers.
