Adjacent is designed to use the predictability of self-striping yarn in
a structured, organized way utilizing atypical shapes for this yarn. Individual triangles are worked and attached as you go without cutting yarn. The sample yarn has a striping pattern of ten colors. Nine stitch patterns were chosen to cycle through the color sequence, ensuring each color is worked in a different stitch pattern each time it comes around again.
The wingspan/width can be lengthened by working more triangles in the first tier. The depth can be made shallower by completing fewer tiers of triangles, or deeper by adding tiers.

With yarn and at gauge given, piece is 12 inches (30.5 cm) deep by 60 inches (152.5 cm) wide.

Yarn Substitution
Look for self-striping sock yarn designed to have 5–7 row stripes in a standard sock. Charts are written with this amount of yarn in mind. If you choose a yarn with different stripe lengths, you will have to adjust the charts accordingly, adding or subtracting rows.

This pattern is also perfect for using up small amounts of yarn or for mini skeins. If working this option, consider changing colors every time you change to a new shape.
