Aegis
The Aegis Cowl is a charming cable-y addition to the cowl repertoire. It is a quick, super wearable garment topper featuring an intensely cabled front section ornamented with beads that are strung onto the yarn before you cast on. The pattern includes instructions for matching cuffs.
“Aegis” refers to an ancient protective shield that was worn by Athena, among others. In ancient Greece, it is often depicted as bearing a serpent-haired image. I think cables might represent a slightly more civilized version. I hope wearing your Aegis will empower you!
Bead requirements: 98 size 5/0 triangles for cowl and pair of cuffs.
Cuffs require an additional 130 yards above stated yardage.
Shoulder measurements of small (medium, large) sizes are 46 (52, 58.5)“ / 117 (132, 148.5) cm.
