The flower design used in the center of the doily is commonly known as the “African Flower” and first appeared in the June 2009 edition of “Sarie” magazine (South Africa) and was written by Lounette Fourie and Anita Roussouw. I adapted the flower and created a six-sided doily using Size 10 cotton thread. The flower can be worked up in either bright, bold colors or in traditional shades to match your home décor.

Besides White, there are three other colors - Color A (flower center), Color B (petals) and Color C (flower edging). You need about 10-15 yards of Colors A & C and about 16-25 yards of Color B.

A thread needle is also needed - for sewing in the ends.

Special Stitches: V-Stitch (v-st)
