This is one of those projects which looks deceptively complicated. The finished wrap is a piece that you can dress up or down; it’s cosy when wrapped around the neck with a jacket but also makes a beautiful shawl for around the shoulders in summer. The scarf version makes a classy accessory. The wrap was designed as a pattern to use 12 x 20g 4ply/fingering weight mini skeins such as you might get in an advent kit/calendar (inspired by the annual ECY 12 Days of Winter mini skein set). Both the wrap and scarf could also be done in one colour.

YARNS
Eden Cottage Yarns, Rosedale 4ply mini skeins (80m/ 87yds per 20g skein)
Eden Cottage Yarns, Brimham High Twist mini skeins (72m/ 78yds per 20g skein)
Eden Cottage Yarns, Brimham 4ply mini skeins (80m/ 87yds per 20g skein)
Quantity: 6 (12) x 20g mini skeins in total

HOOK / NOTIONS
4mm / US G hook for the foundation chain (or one size bigger than the main hook)
3.5mm / US E hook (or the size needed to obtain the correct gauge)
Stitch markers (e.g. lightbulb pins)

GAUGE
14 sts x 10 rows in pattern after blocking (this translates as 3 x pattern repeats/stripes plus one row of HTR and the top of the Y stitch row)

Gauge will depend on how much the fabric is stretched during blocking and then if it shrinks back a bit once it’s dry and unpinned.
