A delicate lace pattern trails up the open front edges of this cardigan, while the body and sleeves are worked in sleek 5x1 ribbing for visual interest and slimming style. Garter stitch eyelets around the hems echo the lace pattern motif and soften the geometry of the ribbing with a hint of flutter.

The fronts overlap generously, and may be worn open, fastened high or low at the neckline, or with the back collar scrunched or folded, as the wearer prefers. Note that when finished carefully, this garment is also completely reversible—choose the look to suit your mood!

Pattern is shown in Knit Picks Andean Treasure, color Fog, size M.

A note on construction: This sweater uses a modified top-down method, with careful adjustments to ensure that sleeve openings aren’t too wide in the larger sizes. It is also entirely seamless, with almost no ends to weave in during finishing!

Errata

Current version (102110): The symbol key for the chart is missing RS/WS instructions for two symbols. The left-leaning and right-leaning decreases should be read as follows:

\ ssk on RS, p2tog tbl on WS
/ k2tog on RS, p2tog on WS

(additions to existing text are in bold). Thanks to knitter Darcey L. for bringing this issue to my attention!

The current version of the PDF download (version 102110) includes corrections for previously identified issues and is available free to anyone who has bought the pattern through Ravelry. Those who bought through Knit Picks site may need to contact them for information on how to get the corrected version.

Versions 122909 and earlier: Last lines on page 5 (the pattern set-up row instructions for size XL) should read as follows:

Size XL: p1, yo, k first marked st, yo, p5, k1, p5, k1, p4, yo, k marked st, yo, p1, (k1, p5) twice, k2tog, (p5, k1) twice, p1, yo, k marked st, yo, p4, k1, p5, k1, p5, yo, k1, yo, end p2.

While the chart for the lace pattern is correct, there are some minor errors in the corresponding written instructions:

Row 11: p1, k1, yo, ssk, k1, (ktbl, p1) four times, ssk, yo, p7, k1, yo, ssk, k1, p1

Row 18: p2, yo, p2tog, p1, k8, p1, (ptbl, k1) three times, k2, p1, yo, p2tog, p2

Row 24: p2, yo, p2tog, p1, k8, p1, k1, ptbl, k6, p1, yo, p2tog, p2

Row 29: p1, k1, yo, ssk, k1, p8, ssk, (ktbl, p1) three times, ktbl, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k1, p1

Row 31: p1, k1, yo, ssk, k1, p8, ssk, (p1, ktbl) three times, yo, p1, k1, yo, ssk, k1, p1

Corrections are in bold.

Also, previous versions of the pattern gave instructions for working the sleeve edging flat, rather than in the round. You will need to “p all” on rows 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 of the edging, rather than “k all,” in order to have the sleeve edging match the hem.

Many thanks to Ravelry user glasspapaya for spotting these errors and alerting me to them!
