I love the teal and red color combination so when I saw this yarn at a local pop-up shop I couldn’t resist! But yarn often looks better in the skein than knit up. Desperate to not let that happen to this yarn, I created a way to highlight the teal and thus preserve some of the look from the skein.

I also love agave plants (and what they produce!). So, I guess this pattern is inspired by teal and tequila. It introduces a new yarn led pooling technique to create agave motifs. But let your imagination run! The motifs could also be flowers or even the bases of flowers that you embroider on later. Choose a skein that speaks to you and has longer color repeats.

The color you choose to create the motifs should have repeats that are roughly 10 inches (25 cm) long or longer. Once you learn the process for creating the motifs you can sprinkle them in wherever you and the yarn decide is right.
