If you would like a light, airy shawl, to be worn as a scarf in Summer, I would recommend version 1 in Silky Merino on 3.5mm needles.
If you would like a larger version to wrap yourself up in then version 2 in Rios on 5mm needles is the one for you.

Version 1: 3 skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino (50g /130m)
3.5mm (US 4) circular needle
Gauge/tension in Stockinette (St st) on 3.5mm needles: 23 sts x 34 rows = 10 x 10 cm/ 4˝x 4˝

Version 2 : 3 skeins of Malabrigo Rios–2 skeins - Col. 1, 1 skein- Col. 2
5mm (US 8) circular needle
Gauge/tension in Stockinette (St st) on 5mm needles: 18 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm/ 4˝x 4˝
1 ring marker (RM)
