The scarf is worked from one narrow end to another in garter stitch and the petals on the edge are worked with intarsia. The tapered ends are created with increases and decreases on the petal side of scarf. An i-cord edge is worked along the straight edge at the same time as the rest of the work.
Finished measurements:
Length: approx. 230 cm / 90.5” (adjustable).
Width in the middle: approx. 35 cm / 13.75” (changes if the length is changed).
MATERIALS
Yarn:
MC: Bio Shetland by BC Garn (100% GOTS-certified wool, 280 m / 306 yds – 50 g) in colourway 38.
CC: Lace by Lang Yarns (58% superkid mohair, 42% silk, 310 m / 339 yds – 25 g) in colourway 50. CC is held double throughout.
Yarn consumption:
MC: 80 g or approx. 450 m / 492 yds of other fingering-weight yarn.
CC: 20 g or approx. 250 m / 273 yds of other lace-weight yarn.
Other fingering-weight yarn suggestions: Tukuwool Fingering by Tukuwool, Merino by Knitting for Olive, Alpakka Silke by Sandnes Garn, Flora by Drops and Alpaca 2 by Isager.
Other mohair yarn suggestions: Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive, Tilia by Filcolana, nurja mohair by nurja and Silk Mohair by Tukuwool.
Needles: 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles with 80 cm / 32” cable. Or size needed to get the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle.
GAUGE
22 sts and 38 rows in garter stitch = 10 x 10 cm, after blocking
Getting exact gauge is not important in this project, but note that gauge will affect the size of the scarf and your yardage.
