DESCRIPTION
Aion (pronunciation: i-yon) Cowl is a cozy accessory worked in a basic geometric colorwork pattern that allows for many color palette possibilities. I worked a version in a simple two color pattern and in a six color rainbow pattern to show examples of the ways you could play with color in this motif, and I also include other color combination possibilities for inspiration at the end of the pattern. I encourage you to use your own imagination (and maybe use up some scrap yarn!) creating your own palette, and I’ve provided a coloring sheet for you to experiment with.

The pattern includes video tutorials showing exactly how to join the cowl at the end while making the colorwork appear completely unbroken.

The Aion Cowl is named after a deity associated with the cycles of the year and the cyclic nature of time. I chose this name after learning one of the most ancient known depictions of a Möbius strip (the shape of this cowl!) is a Roman mosaic from c. 200 AD with Aion standing in a circle of the zodiac.
