Airy Scarf
Pattern description from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts: “This delicate scarf is great if you want to learn the basics of lace knitting. It is also a nice way to use a laceweight mohair on its own without needing a magnifying glass! When Brenda Overstrom, who teaches at Purl, was designing this romantic piece, we were getting ready for a photo shoot and needed her to finish quickly. She sat down one evening, looked at the clock, and proceeded to knit for four hours, the time limit for patterns in this chapter. Because the scarf she made is relatively small, it is perfect for wearing indoors in places where you desire a little warmth and a little beauty.
Finished Measurements: 6” (15 cm) wide, & 36” (91.5 cm) long.
Yarn: Rowan Kidsilk Haze (70% superfine kid mohair, 30% silk; 229 yards 209 meters / 25 grams): #586 bebe (pale pink), 1 skein.
Note: One skein of Rowan Kidsilk Haze is enough to make two scarves.
Needles: One set straight needles size US 10 (6 mm). Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle, scissors
Additional Gauge: “Each eyelet row measures about 3/4” (1.9 cm) high.”
