Alastair is a rugged unisex vest. This pattern incorporates several different textures to create a warm, breathable fabric appropriate for winter hikes. The stitch patterns are simple enough for a beginner, but the interesting construction details will keep advanced knitters engaged.

The vest is knit flat in three pieces from the bottom up with minimal shaping, and it is intended to be worn with 2-4” of positive ease. A seamed construction has been chosen to add stability and structure, with stitches picked up around the neck for the collar, and around the arms for a band of 1x1 Ribbing. There is a zip fastening at the front, with I-cord edging on either side.

ERRATA: Please note that there are issues with some sections of the moss stitch pattern on the front pieces. If you have difficulties in maintaining the moss stitch please contact the designer for assistance.
