Alate: having wings

With a light and airy beauty, Alate virtually floats around your shoulders. When wrapped, it creates a warm and cozy cowl. Or, leave the ends long for a more flowing look. Alate is worked in Shibui Knits Silk Cloud creating an open fabric that is nearly weightless. Shibui Knits Cima is added at the edges for a touch of definition.

Alate is worked from tip to tip. The center is worked in Stockinette Stitch with a single strand of Silk Cloud. The Garter Stitch edges are worked with the Silk Cloud and the Cima held together. Different rates of increasing and decreasing create its fun shape.
