Albion Jubilee
2012 is a fantastic year to celebrate all things British with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics taking place in London! Albion Jubilee is a cute summer top to wear to tea parties, as a spectator cheering on your team, or relaxing in the sunshine.
Knitted from the bottom up using an intarsia technique, the union jack flag unfolds as you knit. Fitted over the bust, it then flares down to the hips, flattering many shapes. The straps match the pattern on the lower half to keep the flag picture.
Knitted in a recycled denim yarn, it is quick to knit as well as being environmentally friendly!
The top is knitted flat in 2 pieces from the bottom up. Both pieces are the same and sewn together at the sides and straps. A zip is added to the side last as cotton shrinks when washed. The pattern has written instructions with a table for the intarsia section for each size. The top has positive ease around the body to give a swing effect, but no ease over the bust to stop gaping.
