June’s birthstone is the ever-changing alexandrite. This is a bottom-up crescent shawl inspired by the colorful alexandrite stone which ranges in colors from pink to purple to green to blue and more. The size and shape of the shawl lends itself to be worn traditionally or draped around the neck, enhancing any outfit for any occasion.

(P.S. Pearl is an alternative birthstone for June. You can knit this shawl in the eggshell colorway if you wish to have a pearl version of this shawl.)

SHAPE: Bottom-up, crescent

NOTIONS:Tapestry needle for weaving ends.

PATTERN STYLE: The pattern contains written as well as chart instructions. There is a key and full abbreviation list included as well.

DIFFICULTY: Intermediate - The shawl has lace on both sides.

YARN: This pattern is better suited for a subtle variegated yarn, solid, or semi solid to show off the detail of the lace.

NOTES

  • If you are a loose knitter, do not swatch to get gauge, or wish to knit this using a larger needle then recommended, please account for more yardage than recommended.
  • The beads on this shawl were not pre-strung. They were added one at a time by using a crochet hook, dental floos, or beading wire.
