This hooded cardigan for your favorite little one comes in four sizes: 6 (12, 18, 24) months, finished chest 20(24,25,27)”. Needle sizes are US 3 and 5. Knit in Comfy Cotton Worsted, it will travel from spring into fall. Color choice makes it for him or her. Designed to grow with the child, it is knit from the top down allowing easy lengthening of the body and the sleeves. By using several intermediate techniques, finishing is at a minimum. There are no side or sleeve seams and the hood is attached as it is knit. Shaping of the neck line and the hood uses short rows. Finishing requires crocheting the drawstring for the hood, making post-knit button holes in the front band, sewing on the buttons and working in the ends. Other techniques include three-needle bind-off, intarsia and circular knitting. Level of difficulty is for the confident knitter with basic skills or the intermediate knitter. Instructions for simpler techniques are included if you choose not to attempt some of the more advanced methods. This pattern is long because I tend to give directions in some detail since I want to anticipate any questions you may have
