This is a very textured blanket, great for sensory play or tummy time. It would also be a great lap blanket for anyone with restless hands.

The blanket features cauliflowers, tomatoes, carrots, primroses, cabbages, borage, beetroot and roses.

The pattern is written in US terms and has photos at the end to help you with the trickier bits. This is an intermediate difficulty pattern. It is great fun to make as the colourful fruit contrast with rows of simple sc, hdc, x-dc and pearl stitches.

I have made it with a brown background to resemble the earth, but beige or light blue would also work well. I know that some people struggle when working with dark colours.

You will need:
Drops Merino Extra Fine. 12 balls of Brown (09), 2 balls of Green (18), 1 ball each of Cerise (17), Raspberry (34), Light Yellow (24) , Turquoise (29).

Smaller amounts of DK Forest Green(31) (20g max) , White(01)(20g), and Red (11) (10g or less), Drops Karisma Orange (11).
2 ply beige/white thread, embroidery thread or sewing thread. I used Scheepjes sweet treat in English Tea (404).

If you have a good stash of DK you probably only need to buy the background colour and 2 balls of green to keep it matching. I used 3 different colours for the border so you will need almost a ball of them too. I used turquoise, pink and light yellow and making the flowers/veg with them I still had enough for the border.

A cushion sized version of this pattern will be available very soon.
