Named for the soil deposits left at river deltas, the Alluvium Shawlette is worked from the center neck down and out. The slip-stitch colorwork creates an eye-catching, easy-to-follow geometric design in a cozy, breathable Merino wool yarn.

Finished Size 48” wide and 18” tall.
Yarn Fibra Natura Donnina (100% superwash extrafine Merino wool; 180 yd 165 m/ 1 ¾ oz 50 g): #226 Real Teal (MC) and #205 Coral Brandy (CC), 2 balls each (see Notes). Yarn distributed by Universal Yarn.
Needles Size 6 (4 mm): 32” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge 23 sts and 30 rows = 4” in St st.

This triangular shawl is worked from the center neck down and outward to the points.

The sample shawl used almost all of two balls of main color (MC). Consider purchasing an extra ball as insurance.

A circular needle is used to accommodate the large number of stitches.

Do not break MC at color changes. Carry MC up the side of the work until it is needed again. Bring the new color under the color just used.
