Almost Home vest features a few of the optional design modifications, most dramatically, the option for less of a slope on the short rows in the lower body, which you can also apply to the sweater. The vest features a sleeve trim rather than full sleeves. Almost Home vest was knit in two solid colors, which highlight the cabling and textured stitch pattern in a different way than the speckled yarn of the sweater version.

The tech edited and test knit intermediate to advanced level pattern is fully written. The cable patterns are written and charted. The pattern includes a schematic and how-to stitch video for the k2togfb.

Blocked Gauge:
16 sts and 25 rows over 4”/ 10cm in Broken Seed Stitch on US 8/ 5mm needles.
Note: If substituting yarn, make sure your blocked Broken Seed Stitch gauges match and write your blocked Broken Seed Stitch row gauge here ___________ rows/ inch. Follow the “If subbing yarn” sections throughout the pattern.

Special Notes:
•Constructed top down with “Lindsay’s Disappearing CO” method. This cast on trick creates
a stabilizing seam without the need for finishing work. To work the trick, hold two DPNs in your dominant hand one DPN will be for the back and the other DPN will be for the front. Note: using a long tail cast on for the back and front separately and seaming at the end may be substituted if desired.
•Mark It: Almost Home Vest uses multiple named markers to indicate stitch pattern changes.
Once markers are placed slip as you come to them.
•Stitch It: k2togfb is a zero st count change detail stitch!
•Substitute It: if subbing yarn, the “If subbing yarn” directions are a measurement conversion of the
rows / rnds immediately preceding it.
