El diseño
El gorro Alpina es un sencillo accesorio invernal, con borde doble y calce ajustado, adornado por un motivo floral en jacqard. El diseño de Alpina se inspira en la Chloralea alpina, una delicada orquídea que crece en medio de zonas agrestes y altas, resistiendo el viento helado y el sol de la montaña. Un bonito contraste propio de los tejidos de invierno: textiles vistosos, elegantes y suaves que nos protejan del frío de la estación.

The design
Alpina hat is a simple winter accessory, fitted, with a double folded brim, and featuring a floral motif in stranded colorwork. Alpina takes its name from the Chloralea alpina, a delicate orchid that grows in rugged and high lands, enduring the cold wind and the bright sun of the mountains. It is the beautiful contrast found in all winter knits: colorful, elegant and soft garments that protect us in this season’s cooler days.

Finished measurements:
42 (46, 50) cm/ 16.5 (18, 19.5) in circumference, 26 (26.5, 26.5) cm/ 10.25 (10.5, 10.5) in height and 14 (15, 15) cm/ 5.5 (6, 6) in brim.

These are finished measurements after blocking. For choosing the size of your hat, consider a negative ease of 8 cm/ 3 in.

Gauge (after blocking):
27 stitches and 34 rounds in 10 cm/ 4 in, measured in stockinette stitch, knitted in the round with Size A needles.

18 stitches and 35 rounds (1 pattern repeat) in 7.5 cm/ 3 in and 12 cm/ 4.75 in (1 motif repeat), measured in colorwork, knitted in the round with Size A needles.

Suggested needles:
Size A: 4mm/ US 6 circular needles (or the size necessary to obtaing gauge) with a long cable for magic loop or your preferred materials for knitting small circumferences.
