A shallow shawlette/scarf knitted sideways in one piece with written and charted instructions.
Finished measurements are
28cm/11ins deep at the widest point and 173cm/68ins length.
Materials
4mm/US 6 circular needle or a pair of 4mm/US 6 straight needles.
1 x Natural Star hand dyed yarn - 100g/4oz of White Gum Wool 100% Merino - 4ply/fingering weight.
Approximately 472m/516y.
Colourway used in photo - Blue Metal
1 stitch marker.
Yarn needle for sewing in ends.
A blocking mat and pins for blocking.
Abbreviations
k - knit, k2tog - knit the next 2 stitches together, kfab - knit into the front and the back of the next stitch, p2sso - pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knitted stitch, p - purl, pm - place marker, rep - repeat, sl2tog - slip the next two stitches together onto the other needle as if to knit, sm - stitch marker, som - slip over marker, ssk - slip, slip, knit, st(s) - stitch(es), yo - yarn over.
Gauge/Tension
26 sts and 44 rows to 10cm/4ins over garter stitch on 4mm/US 6 needles unblocked. Gauge/tension is not
crucial.
Note: To get the most of your skein weigh it before start-ing. You will use 25% of your yarn for the increase sec-tion, 50% for the straight section and 25% for the
decrease section.
