“Once winter sets in on the Lewis moor, the autumn heather bells and moorland grasses fade to pale shades which overlay the rich ground tones with misty hues. This was my colour inspiration for Altnaharra, a flattering three-quarter length jacket in fourteen colours of Alice Starmore® Hebridean 2 Ply. Like the winter moor, it is both striking and subtle at the same time.

Concentration is required to set out the main pattern, but it becomes familiar quite quickly and is therefore an intermediate project for any knitters practised in stranded knitting techniques.“
