Linen and Lilacs…two of my favorite plants. As the warmer months approach, my wardrobe moving gracefully from wool to linen. Similarly, as the snow melts and the buds begin to make their appearance, I find myself surrounded by lilacs…here, there, everywhere.

A Verb For Keeping Warm created this new lovely yarn, Triptych…a blend of alpaca, linen and silk, and it inspired the name of this of piece, Alyva.

Lithuania is known for its deep tradition in growing and processing flax into the linen fabric we love so much. Alyva is Lithuanian for Lilac, a nod to both the fiber and the inspiration behind this lace stitch pattern.

Based on feedback, I’ve made updates to the color of the type in the pattern and the chart size for readability. I’ve also updated the needle and gauge due to folks running out of yarn.
