Hi Ravelry knitters!
Can you imagine how excited I became when I met Kimberly Golynskiy and her new project “Around the world in 80 skeins”?
As a crafter, I’m amazed by the friendships and connections made online, among people from all over the world. There’s no more such a thing as loneliness when we think about how many knitters, crocheters, seamstress etc etc, we can find online to share ideas. More than that, through social media, we can participate on their creative process’, families, daily setbacks and happiness, delicious snacks and meals and the most beautiful yarns and notions that we all love to have! Particularly, Im a big believer that the more positive thoughts and actions we share, the better it will be for the the whole planet. It’s a privilege to be part of worldwide group of people that loves the art of knitting. Through “Around the world in 80 skeins”, Kimberly is going further. Now we will be able to know even more about knitters from all over the world. I’m immensely happy to be part of this and ready to travel all over the world with so many talented knitters. Thank you, Kimberly. To celebrate this sweet journey, I developed a mini collection, inspired by the idea of physically travel to so many countries! Which pieces are key for this adventure? I just can think about layers, comfort and practicality in gorgeous colors! I would like to present to you: Amalie, an open front cardigan that can be also used upside-down, with lots of ease but a feminine touch to enhance the waist, Ametrine, a wide shawl, that fully embrace your body, keeping you warm and free to move, and Amity, a versatile cowl, designed to snugly fit your neck and shoulders. The mini collection “Ready to go around the world - basic and comfy pieces for adventurous knitters that love travelling”, have fun constructions and different representation of lines, such as colorful stripes and lots of ribbing with a little twist to create shapes and textures. Do you remember the math concept: the smallest distance between two points are a straight line? There we go… Are you ready to join us to go around the world in 80 skeins”?
Amalie is an open front cardigan with a fun and interesting construction! Even designed to be a comfort garment, Amalie have a detail that enhances the back waist. It’s such a versatile piece, that can be wear all year long!
