Amanda’s Lacy Hat is a quick and simple knit that combines garter and lace sections that can be repeated as many or as few times as you want, to make a close fitting beanie, a slightly longer toque, or a slouchy hat as big as you want. The possibilities are nearly endless. This hat works up so quickly you may want to try a number of different variations.
And the swirled lace crown decreases add an extra element of chic that is lots of fun.
This hat is designed for a light worsted weight yarn with a gauge of 20 stitches and 26 rows for 4 inches (10 cm), using a US size 7 (4.5 mm) and US size 8 (5 mm) circular or double pointed needle (knitter’s choice).
Yardage needed will be highly dependent on the size, length of the brim, and the number of repeats, but can range from approximately 100 yds (92 meters) to 170 yds (156 meters).
The pattern is sized for Adult Small, Medium, and Large, but can also be further adjusted by going up or down a needle size.
This pattern contains a chart and fully written out directions.
