Notes From the Designer:
Soothing, muted earth tones and the softness of Alpaca Silk DK yarn make this shawl as comforting to knit as it is to wear. The accentuated crescent shape translates into a shawl that easily stays on your shoulders, while also allowing the tails to hang in soft spirals. Knitted in a DK weight yarn, this shawl works up fairly quickly.
Construction begins with a Garter Tab and expands outwards with simple increases along the edges. Additional increases in the first section provide for extra ease around your neck when wearing. Although this shawl is designed to be made with three colors, two colors – one main color and one contrasting accent color – would also work.

- Making a gauge swatch is critical. Please DO NOT assume that you knit to the same gauge as I do! It is the only way to ensure that what you are knitting will produce what you expect, and you won’t need to worry about running out of yarn. Note that Colors A and B use most of the skein.
- If you are substituting yarn, it is especially important to gauge swatch in order to verify that it behaves in the same way as the yarn called for in the pattern.
