This design has a vintage vibe with a comfortable modern twist, with inspiration from the 1940s and late Victorian period. The name is inspired by pomanders; oranges perforated with cloves, which I associate with cosy scents in the depths of winter. ‘Pomander’ comes from the French ‘pomme d’ambre’ or ‘apple of amber’!
This cardigan has an unusual construction and is worked top-down with the button band worked at the same time. It has a v-neck, herringbone saddle shoulders and cuffs, and dramatically puffed sleeves.
