Ambleside Shawl
This easy shawl is ideal for those who have never made a shawl before, or those who are experienced knitters but have a highly coloured yarn that requires a simple pattern to show it off best. It is worked from the top down, and cast off along the long edge.
Materials
Eden Cottage Yarns, Hayton DK
(80% Extrafine Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon) (225m/245yds per 100g skein)
Colourway: Thunder x 2 skeins
4.5mm (US7) circular needle, 60-80cm (24 – 32in) length
Stitch marker
Size
60” x 27.5” / 152cm x 70cm
Gauge
14 sts x 24 rows to 10cm (4in) over stocking stitch after blocking.
Gauge is not crucial for this project, however using differently sized needles will result in a differently sized shawl, and may use more or less yarn.
