American Crazy Quilt Scarf
This scarf is a great stash-busting project, using small amounts of leftover worsted-weight yarns in many colors. Like the colorful crazy quilts popular in America during the Victorian age, you can use as many yarns and colors as you want and work the patterns for as many repeats as you wish and in whatever order pleases you--or substitute your favorite two-color stitch patterns.
This scarf is worked in the round; weave in the ends as you go. All stitch patterns are slip-stitch patterns and are worked with 2 or 3 colors each. The mosaic patterns are charted.
Needle sizes listed are suggestions; use whatever circular or double-pointed needles that give you good drape. Many stitch patterns are used, each of which may give a slightly different gauge. Change needle sizes if necessary to achieve the drape that you like for each pattern.
