These cuddly buddies are a great introduction in how to do amigurumi and how to crochet 3-D objects! Pattern includes instructions for 3 softies: a cat, a bunny, and a bear.

Materials

Yarn: 1 skein each of Juniper Moon Farms Moonshine yarn (worsted weight, 40% Wool 40% Alpaca 20% Silk 197 yards).
For Cat, Color A=Cotton Candy, Color B=Dew. For Bunny, Color A=Moonbeam, Color B=Coffee. For Bear, Color A=Afternoon Nap, Color B=Old Blue Eyes or Azure Sky or Diving Board

You’ll need approx. 150 yards each of 2 colors (300 yards total of a worsted weight, #4 yarn)

Hook: G/4.5mm or hook needed to obtain gauge

Polyfill stuffing

15mm safety eyes (optional) or yarn/embroidery floss for eyes (The Knitting Tree, L.A. has these in stock)

2 locking stitch markers

Yarn needle

Scissors

Finished size:Approx 15” from top of head to bottom of feet

Gauge: 5sts per inch and 10 rows in single crochet. Gauge is not crucial, but should be very close. Project should not be loose at all, so change hook size to get closer to gauge.

All animals have the same base including head, body, arms, legs, and snout. What differs is the ears and embroidery for the faces.

Stitches and abbreviations used: Slipped stitch=sl st, Single crochet=sc, Dec=place hook in the front loops only of next 2 sts, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yo and pull through remaining 2 loops

Please note that all pieces are worked in spirals. Mark the first stitch of each round with a stitch marker and move it up with each consecutive round. The Cat’s head will be striped, so switch between color A and B every row throughout. The Bunny’s and Bear’s head is all one color. The numbers at the end of the rows refer to the stitch count for the row.

Have fun!
