Amigurumi Swan and Cygnet
Post-beginner/intermediate amigurumi patterns 2 for 1.
Beautiful Bella the swan and sweet Alice the cygnet.
You will get both patterns, one for the swan and one for the cygnet. I have included both UK and US terminology patterns, so you can choose which one to follow (4 files in total).
This pattern requires basic knowledge of crochet stitches:
magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet/double crochet, double crochet/treble crochet, back loop and front loop crochet and how to crochet in spiral.
I have included lots of photos to the pattern to help you along.
For the Swan you will need:
3 mm crochet hook, yarn needle, white, black and red (or orange) yarn ( I used Lion Brand FEELS LIKE BUTTA yarn but you can use any acrylic/cotton yarn you prefer): white (approx. 100 g/199 m)/ red (approx. 1 m)/black (under 1 m), stitch marker, scissors, toy stuffing (approximately 20 g), wire** (approximately 20 cm, I used no. 24 flower making wire folded in half) and 2 safety eyes (I used 9mm eyes but you can use other sizes).
Tension is not important for amigurumi, but stitches should be tight without any gaps.
My tension is 5 stitches/ 6 rounds = 2.5 x 2.5 cm.
this pattern was also tested without wire; finished swan will look the same, but its neck won’t bend.
Finished Swan will be about 18 x 18 cm with its head bent.
For the Cygnet you will need:
Either 2.5 mm or 3 mm crochet hook, yarn needle, stitch marker, toy stuffing (about 10 g)
white and grey DK yarn (approximately 15g/ 35m each colour, I used Deramores Studio DK in Storm Cloud and Deramores Studio Baby Soft DK in Ice Cream yarn but you can use any acrylic type yarn you prefer) and less than a meter of black for embroidering the bill, 2 safety eyes (I used 6mm)
slicker brush for fluffing up the cygnet (optional).
Finished Cygnet will be about 7 x 7 cm if using 2.5 mm hook and 8 x 8 cm if using 3 mm hook.
Hope you like these pattern, any questions please message me! Always happy to help :)
