amirisu Mystery KAL 2025: The Light of That Day

amirisu is holding our fourth annual Mystery KAL in September!

This pattern is available directly from amirisu only. Visit one of our Japan-based online shops to purchase the pattern and join the MKAL.
In a Mystery Knit Along (known a Mystery KAL or MKAL), participants knit a shawl section by section without knowing what the finished design will be. A new section of the pattern (a “clue”) is revealed each week. Completing each clue brings participants one step closer to finishing the shawl and revealing the complete design.

Pattern Distribution

After you purchase the pattern from our online shop, the PDF files will become available in MY LIBRARY located in your order history.

Schedule

The first clue will be provided on Sept. 12 (Fri.) at 15:00 (JST).
Clues will be provided over 5 weeks: Sept. 12, Sept. 19, Sept. 26, Oct. 3, Oct. 10
Participants will receive an email notifying them each time a new clue is available.

About the Pattern

Participants may choose to download the clues in English or Japanese. Video tutorials will be provided for key techniques.

Yarn
Two colors of sport weight yarn
CC1: Approximately 250 yards / 230 m
CC2: Approximately 290 yards / 270 m

One color of lace weight yarn
CC3: Approximately 470 yards / 430 m

Gauge
21 stitches and 29 rows = 10cm in Stockinette stitches
Gauge is not critical for this project but will affect the amount of yarn required.

Needles
US5 (3.75mm) 80 cm (or longer) circular needle

Or needle required to obtain gauge

Notions

Tapestry needle, stitch markers, blocking wires, waste yarn or cord for putting stitches on hold

今年もamirisu ミステリーショールKALを開催します！

ミステリーKALとは、毎週少しずつパターンが発表され、最後まで編むとショールが完成するというもの。糸選びから始まって、編んでいる皆さんでワイワイお祭りのように楽しもうという企画です。どんなショールになるのか最後までわからない、というところがミステリーなんですよ。

ゴールを目指して一緒に楽しく編みましょう！

文章パターンです。日本語も英語もご用意します。
ミステリーでも安心して編んでいただけるように、キーとなる編み方についての動画をたくさんご用意します！

使用する糸について

Sport weight の毛糸2 色
カラー1: 約250 yards/ 230 m
カラー2: 約290 yards/ 270 m
Lace weight の毛糸1 色
カラー3: 約470 yards/ 430 m

使用する針

US5 (3.75mm) の80 cm 以上の輪針

または ゲージが取れる太さの針
ゲージは重要ではありませんが、ゲージが変わると糸量も変わることにご注意ください。

ゲージ
メリヤス編みで21目29段 = 10cm（ゲージは重要ではありませんが、糸量が変わることにご注意ください）

その他の道具

マーカー、糸始末用のとじ針、ブロッキングワイヤー、目を休めるための別糸かコード
