In Greek mythology, Ananke was the personification of destiny, necessity and fate. She was often depicted holding a spindle. How perfect! I feel that she compelled me to knit this shawlette, and a second, and to cast on for moremoremore. Give in to Ananke and knit one for yourself (or a friend)!
Fingering weight shawl (smaller version: Wollmeise, Poison #5, larger version: Knitted Wit Single Fingering, Supernova):
Gauge: 24 sts and 28 rows per 4 “/10cm
Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle (24” or longer)
Yarn: about 380-475 yards fingering weight
Sport weight shawl (STR Mediumweight, Muddy Autumn Rainbow):
Gauge: 22 sts and 32 rows per 4”/10cm
Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle (24” or longer)
Yarn: about 350 yards sport-weight
Finished Measurements (lightly wet-blocked):
Fingering weight shawl: 62” wide, 17” deep at center
Sport-weight shawl: 60” wide, 17” deep at center
