Versatile, beautiful, fully-customisable Ancestors Bodice, knitted in any Worsted, DK, Sport, fingering or other yarn.

You can take Ancestors Bodice into couture style or historical depending on which yarn and length you choose.

You can make a humble, simple Ancestors Yarn in your absolute favourite yarn and have it support and hug you gently all the time with your favourite outfit. Feels good.

Or, what about playing a little? For example, a silk and linen blend in a bold shade perhaps even with sequins bralet knitted with lots of positive ease would be very luxe glam while a rustic yarn knitted with negative ease evokes Outlander style.

Let’s not forget Game of Thrones - what about using a strong metallic yarn for a body armour bodice a la Brienne or a deep-shade of velvet chenille bodice for a Sansa-style? Or a shimmering, magical yarn that echoes our Queen of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen?

Depending on your chosen stitch count, yarn and needle size combination you can allow positive, zero or negative ease and make your Ancestors Bodice drape or hug your curves like a corset.

You knit the straps first and then work your Ancestors Bodice to the length you’d like {or the length your stash yarn amount allows!}. Choose cropped as a bralet style / empire line or knit a full corset-style longer length.

You can stop knitting whenever you want; take it as far as hip length, mini dress or, for the adventurous and those addicted to this flowing, relaxing to knit cable pattern, why not a full floor-length gown? Or simply make a cute bustier version wear with your Ancestors Skirt.

As a rough guide - you’ll need less than 100g of DK to knit a bralet in sizes XXS - M. For a full length corset-style bodice in DK for sizes up to XXXL allow up to three 100g skeins.

Work the gauge you like with the yarn you’ve chosen to create either tight tension and a more fitted corset-style Ancestors Bodice or go loose on bigger needles and let the cable stitch relax. All ways look glorious so you just can’t go wrong.

And the way the roots cable pattern naturally relaxes and contracts makes it is extremely comfortable to wear.

No matter which yarn you use, Ancestors Bodice always looks beautiful with a tutu! {So very lovely to knit for children too in their elf and fairy tutus-forever phase - I’m still in that phase frankly - am wearing a tutu under the jersey dress in Tree Moss Ancestors Bodice.}

Perhaps you’d like to knit an Ancestors Apron or Ancestors Skirt to go with your Ancestors Bodice?
