Hi Friends!

I’m happy to announce that I’ve been selected as a 2024 MT Community Love Fund designer. From Oct. 23 - Nov. 30, 10% of yarn and kits sales will raise money for my designated charity, The National Domestic Violence Hotline!

Ancient Moss Light is an asymmetrical skinny triangle shawl with an allover mosaic slipped stitch colorwork pattern.

Mosaic knitting is the perfect stepping stone to colorwork, and Ancient Moss Light uses an easy-to-remember stitch pattern that creates beautifully textured stitches.

The pattern calls for three colorways of fingering weight yarn, but you can use as few as two colors or as many more as you’d like.

Check out Ancient Moss, the DK version, here.

Size: 18 x 90” / 46 x 229cm.

Needles: US 5 / 3.75mm or size to obtain gauge; circular, at least 24” / 60cm.

Gauge: 24 sts and 30 rows = 4”/ 10cm in Mossy Garter Slip Stitch.
Gauge is not crucial but differences will affect yardage and finished dimensions.

Yarn: fingering weight in three colors:
A: 312 yards / 286 meters;
B: 288 yards / 264 meters;
C: 340 yards / 312 meters.

Notions: tapestry needle.

Samples knit in:
Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light (100% superwash Merino, single-ply; 420 yards / 105g) in Neon Red (A), Gentle Monster (B), and Toner Cartridge (C).

Emma’s Yarn Super Silky (70% superwash Merino, 30% Silk; 400 yards / 100g) in Whisper (A), Nailed It (B), and After Dark (C).

You can use right or left, as long as you use the same one each time; I prefer right, and used it consistently throughout the pattern.
