Andrea Beanie

A pretty and simple beanie which works up quickly in all knit stitches. Two strands of Önling No 2 and one strand of silk mohair make for cosy warmth and a lovely, soft structure. A particular technique renders the subtle pattern. Extra length at the top creates the intended slouch. The hat can be worked in many colors to different effect, and you can make good use of leftover scraps in this project. Also, it is reversible, displaying two different versions of the structure inside and out.

Color C: 25 g / 1 ball Önling No 10, 70% mohair, 30% silk, 25 g = approx. 230 yards (210 meters), weight: lace

After the initial garter stitch border, the pattern is made up of 1 row in each color (= 3 rows) followed by 1 row using all 3 colors held together.

Recommended circular needle size 3,5 mm / US 4

Gauge 22 sts and 33 rows in pattern on 3,5 mm / US 4 needles = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches

Procedure
The beanie is worked back and forth, beginning with a garter stitch band followed by the pattern. Decreases are worked for the top shaping, and the hat is seamed together at the back.
