This floaty stole can be transformed by the way you wear it. With the longer edge at the bottom it appears to be a traditional crescent shawl. But wear it the other way up and the deep edging becomes the collar for a bolero-shaped wrap, which can be pinned in place. There are little loops at the upper border front edge for buttonholes, too. Judy Furlong says: “The sizes are given to wear around the shoulders and fastened at the front, but you could make it larger and swathe yourself in lace!”

This stole starts with a lower border based on the traditional Shetland pattern, Print O’ the Wave, and stitches for the main section, which is divided into shaped segments in Estonian Blueberry Stitch, are picked up from the straight edge. Finally, the upper border is knitted on at right angles to the main section and grafted to the top of the left front band.

Size XS-S uses 3 x 25g balls of Debbie Bliss Angel in Jade (10).
Sizes S-M, M-L, L-XL, 2XL-3XL use 4 x 25g balls of Debbie Bliss Angel in Jade (10).

All sizes use 11 removable stitch markers and 13 additional stitch markers.
