This shawl pattern has been knitted in a cotton lurex yarn with beads. The beads within the main body of the shawl are added using the crochet hook method and are size 6 seed beads. The shawl is knitted from the top garter stitch tab down.

The shawl is finished with a picot cast off also including beads. Before working the cast off it is necessary to thread the beads onto the yarn as these beads are worked by being pushed up against a stitch before the next stitch is worked so need to be on the yarn. You can use the same size 6 seed beads for the cast off as you used within the body of the shawl but you may want to use a different type of bead. I used 4mm Magatama beads for the shawl in the picture or you could use drop beads.

The shawl can also be knitted in a range of 4ply or lace weight yarns but you may need to adjust the needle size if using a different weight yarn and the shawl may be larger or smaller again depending on the weight of the yarn.
