The Annie Shawl is joining the family. A large two skein design with a ribbed stitch pattern, just enough to keep your interest but easy to remember. Instructions for a match Cowl are also included.
We show Annie on our podcast here at 52 mins! https://youtu.be/bkFocRJ6fGc?si=uK2jGImwyTH-JA5v
Annie was our Auntie and our dad’s sister. She was at collage with our mum and was instrumental in getting our parents together – a story for the podcast one day? When we were young, Annie owned a hotel in Devon. We would spend a few weeks each summer there having the time of our lives at the beach with our cousins.
The sample was knit in a tonal yarn, but it would look so lovely in a variegated or a speckled colour way. I think it’s going to be one that you’ll want to make in all the colours!
The pattern is both written and charted with both elements next to each other. It is a great pattern for a knitter who wanted to use charts for the first time.
Pattern Information:
Yarn: 800m fingering weight yarn; the sample is knit using Belinda Harris Reid Merino Silk (50% Merino, 50% Silk) in the colour way Deep Purple.
Suggested Needles: US 4/3.5mm or needles required to get gauge.
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle
Measurements: 180 cm/72” wingspan, 32.5 cm/13” depth, unblocked
Gauge: 33 sts x 38 rows to 10cm/4” over stitch pattern unblocked; gauge is less important in a shawl, however, if your gauge is looser than specified more yarn will be required.
