This pattern replaces A Country Beret also by Erssie Major

The original pattern was popular but many people could not find a current yarn to match the Rowan Country gauge. This yarn is still a bulky yarn but easier to match.
Erssie has redesigned this for a slightly less bulky yarn but has gone for the same tweedy classic beret look.

However: Watch your row gauge folks, if you knit too tightly and end up with shorter heighth for each stitch/row, you are going to get a slightly short beret….if your row gauge does not match but stitch gauge produces the correct fit, just keep an eye on the length and add or take away rows as necessary.
