Inspired by the geologic layers of Antelope Canyon in Northern Arizona, this asymmetric poncho is constructed in sections using three colors and short rows. Alternating rows of stockinette stitch and reverse stockinette stitch form the undulating pattern that mimics the exposed geologic layers within the incredible slot canyon.

I used wrap and turn short rows throughout.

The pattern uses three colors of Leading Men Fiber Arts Diva (a fingering weight yarn). I’ve also used Leading Men Fiber Arts Show Stealer (5 colors) to make an alternate version of this poncho.
