Aoife and Eve Fairies
Aoife and Eve opposites but similar in many ways. Aoife the Irish Fairy is strong, fierce and brave from her striking locks to her lucky shamrock. Eve the Garden Fairy is a pretty pastel delight! She is dainty, peaceful and determined. The perfect pair.
The pattern is an intermediate amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. It includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.
Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of the finished item. My Fairies are approximately 19cm tall (7 ½ inches).
You will receive one PDF file which requires software like Adobe Reader to open (this is free to download).
Please contact me immediately if you have purchased this pattern thinking it is an actual toy as I do not process refunds after the PDF file has been downloaded.
You will need:
- 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
- Less than 50g of 4ply yarn/fingering in each colour: Aoife = NUDE, ORANGE, GREEN, LIGHT GREEN, DUSTY LIME and OLIVE Eve = NUDE, PINK, LILAC, PURPLE, BLUSH and YELLOW
- 2x pairs of 6mm safety eyes
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Polyester toy stuffing
- Stitch marker
Notes:
- A yarn with no stretch is best for amigurumi, I ordinarily use cotton or cotton blend.
- Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round (unless it says otherwise).
- Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
- For Aoife, I’ve used the following yarns: o NUDE = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “816 Parchment” o ORANGE = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “807 Peach” o GREEN = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in “98 Sage Green” o LIGHT GREEN = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in “75 Dusty Light Green” o DUSTY LIME = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in “74 Dusty Lime” o OLIVE = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in “72 Olive”
- For Eve, I’ve used the following yarns: o NUDE = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “816 Parchment” o YELLOW = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “806 Daffodil” o PINK = Bendigo Woollen Mills 4ply cotton in “805 Pink Rose” o LILAC = Scheepjes Cotton 8 in “529” o PURPLE = Scheepjes Cotton 8 in “726” o BLUSH = Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4 in “045 Pink”
- I have used safety eyes for this pattern but you may embroider. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
